2016: Data Center Consolidation
A Latin American company providing building materials within both North and South America. The company has established positions in civil, defense and energy markets.
Challenge:With an aging data center and a long-term lease expiring, this company desired to implement a new state-of-the-art data center for its entire North American operations capable of supporting strategic growth and expansion.
After securing $6 million in funding approval and identifying an 8,000 square foot new facility location, they were still lacking a proven resource with prior data center move experience to lead a 10-month, time sensitive initiative.
The company did not have an in-house resource with these capabilities and knew they needed the right person(s) to manage this high-visibility data center move that would serve as the cornerstone of their future efforts to consolidate other data centers and modernize their infrastructure.
Solution:Worked with all groups – from construction trades, to union staff, to senior executives – possessing a genuine understanding of what each group was doing to accomplish the objectives of the program in addition to the following:
-
Perform leasehold improvements on the existing office space and relocate 70 employees from the old data center to their new office space in the company’s main office campus
Results:The company now has a modern data center with the capacity to grow by an additional 25%, allowing for further consolidation of operations in the future.

2016 Projects
2015: New Product Development
A Roswell, Georgia based Fortune 5000 company providing automated dispensing technology products and services to clients in the immediate Southeastern US.
Challenge:With a million dollar project portfolio numbering in the hundreds of projects, the client faced a similar need to a previous New Product Development project worked on; to decrease time-to-market in response to competitive pressures and its multiple product line expansion.
Solution:During the beginning stages of the client adopting the Scrum framework initiative to benefit from shorter project duration, PM Solutions became an integral part of an internal group that provided agile coaching to teams employing agile development practices, coupled with training tailored to their specific environment.
Results:
-
Average project duration (cycle time) was reduced by approximately 20%, for a net savings of nearly $5 million
-
Customer satisfaction improved nearly 30% --exceeding the goal of 25%
PROJECTS
I have had the opportunity to serve as one of several points of contact for multiple projects from 2001-2016. While working on a Strategy Execution project in 2001, I was inspired to pursue an MBA from American Intercontinental University. Noting the timeline, I have worked on projects focusing on Data Center Consolidation, New Product Management and Infrastructure Program Management.

2006-2007: Infrastructure Program Management
As a multi-billion dollar world leader in construction machinery components and financial products, this company’s customer base includes virtually every major manufacturer in the global and off-highway markets.
Challenge:There were, an overall, 15 discrete projects included in the HR Transformation Program, encompassing all aspects of HR service delivery, such as Payroll, Benefits, Health and Welfare, and Pensions that were in jeopardy due to a strategy the company developed to “right source” key HR functions to an outsourced single contractor.
Key milestones and deliverables were not being met for any of the projects, and critical cost overruns were adding up – especially with the organization not having the program management expertise to achieve expected results.
Solution:By applying PM Solutions’ proprietary Project Review and Recovery techniques, veteran consultants reset client / vendor requirements, milestones, resource projections, estimates, and delivery targets.
Result: All 15 projects within the program were completed on schedule and on budget, with no service disruptions or outages during the pilot, transition, or go-live phases.
